Ohio candidate for governor Connie Pillich contends her training in the military and her success winning a historically Republican state House of Representatives seat in the Cincinnati area make her the best candidate of the field seeking the Democratic nomination.
Former state Sen. Connie Pillich, a Democrat from Cincinnati, announced her education plan on Tuesday. The planks include universal pre-K, increased and revamped K-12 funding, free vocational job training and debt-free public university.
Pillich is modelling her health-insurance options on an original feature of the Affordable Care Act that didn’t make it into law. The public option would have created a government-run health-insurance agency to compete with private insurers on insurance exchanges where individuals can qualify for subsidies and buy insurance.
