I was selected to attend Squadron Officer School early – only a first lieutenant.  Most officers attending were already captains.  SOS is a professional military education program held at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.  We studied leadership, teamwork, war strategy, and military history.  I received the Excellence in Briefing (speaking) award.  I also played soccer for the first time.

My dad placed this article in the Lackawanna Front Page, in the town where my godmother, Aunt Mary lived.  The photo shows me receiving the Best Combat Crew Communications Branch award for the second consecutive year.  I was honored to be selected from the entire United States Air Force.
